November is the Foundation month of Rotary. A series of foundation related events are held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau End Polio Walk and The World\u2019s Greatest Meal to Help End Polio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau\u2019s eight Rotary Clubs have organised the 2024 End Polio Charity Walk & Run on 20 October 2024.  The Rotary Club of Macau, Rotary Club of Hou Kwong, Rotary Club of Macau Central, Rotary Club of Guia, Rotary Club of Macau Island, Rotary Club of Amizade, Rotary Club of Penha and Rotary Club of Oriental Pearl made a joint press release which successfully encouraged over 300 participants to the Walk & Run raising a total of US$13,500 to the PolioPlus Fund, supporting Rotary International\u2019s efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.  The run started with the Macau Wind Runners\u2019 Group\u2019s co-organised charity walk & run at Hac Sa Reservoir Nature Park between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.. The run covers around eight kilometers while the walk covers three kilometres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 26 October 2024, the eight Rotary Clubs in Macau have organised a charity dinner at Tromba Rija in the Macau Tower in a Halloween theme with half of the meal fee going to the End Polio Fund.  This year, there were 126 participants the charity dinner has raised US$3,000. Together with the Macau End Polio Walk, Area one raised total US$16,500 to the End Polio Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Up to October 2024, 9000 World\u2019s Greatest Meal events have been reported held in 88 countries with half a million participants worldwide.  US$4,731,796.55 has been raised through World\u2019s Greatest Meal events transforming into the donation of more than 100 million plus polio vaccines and US$14,195,389.65 matching fund donated by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next End Polio fundraising walk in Hong Kong will be held on 14 December 2024 at the Peak, details as showed at the below e- poster. District Governor Nigel Lo and Dr. Ko Wing Man will join the Walk as our guests of honour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intercity Meeting<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In honour of the visit of Rotary International President Stephanie A. Urchick, an Intercity Meeting will be organised on 18 November 2024. Exciting entertainment and jazz music will be featured and this provides an ideal occasion to recognise the Rotary Clubs and Rotarians who have generously contributed to the different fundraising programs of The Rotary Foundation this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To facilitate donor recognition at the Intercity Meeting, Rotarians are encouraged to effect their donations asap so that we can check the RI update figures before 16 November, 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant Management Seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Grant Management Seminar will be held on 16 November, 2024. All clubs that would like to participate Grants (including District Grants, Global Grants and all TRF Programs) in the coming Rotary Year 2025\/26 must at least has one member join the Seminar. This is one of the important conditions that all clubs must fulfill in order to achieve club qualification in the coming Rotary Year 2025\/26. Please find the details with referring to the e poster below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taipei Zone Institute<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rotarians are encouraged to attend the 2024 Taipei Zone Institute held in Grand Hotel Taipei between 27 November 2024 and 1 December 2024 to meet Rotarians from other countries and to seek potential opportunities to partner with other Rotary Clubs to apply for global grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
